Journey of Hope:
TransAmerica Team Journal 2017

Wednesday, August 9, 2017

Today we rode from Lynchburg, VA to Charlottesville, VA. Only 3 days away from Washington, D.C.! Despite only having a few days until arrival, the rides have not gotten any easier. The ride consisted of several steep climbs, but we all made it to stage up on time meaning we did not have to use our rack point once this summer!

Today was bittersweet as we had our last friendship visit. After arrival and lunch with The Arc of Charlottesville, we got showered and came back to do a friendship visit with them at the church across the street. Although everyone was tired due to little downtime after the ride, everyone killed it at the friendship visit and made the most of it. It was sad knowing there will be know more dance parties this summer, but I know we are all grateful for the opportunities we had to meet and hang out with the differently abled throughout the entire summer!

Tomorrow is arguably our toughest ride of the trip and our last century day! There will be roughly 10,000 feet of climbing en route to Front Royal, VA tomorrow but we are ready and have our sights set on the capital lawn.
