Pi Kappa Phi is privileged to have over 1,300 volunteers nationwide, who give their time, talent and treasures to ensure the men of Pi Kappa Phi are afforded an outstanding fraternity experience.
My name is Victor Santiago. I was initiated into the Pi Kappa Phi brotherhood on December 4th, 2010 in the Theta Psi Chapter, at RIT. During my undergraduate career at RIT, I had the opportunity and pleasure of holding various leadership positions on campus, as well as within the chapter. These included PR/Recruitment and Service chairman for my chapter and participating in Journey of Hope (North- Crew) during the summers of 2011 and 2012.
I am currently the Chapter Advisor for the Kappa Eta Chapter of Pi Kappa Phi, located at SUNY Geneseo. I have been with the chapter in this role since they installed in March of 2015. When there was a call out for this position to be filled, I jumped at the opportunity. I felt that I had more to offer to this fraternity for all the opportunities it has given me.
Being the chapter advisor of an associate chapter was difficult at times, but very rewarding overall. And still is. Being young and recently out of college, graduated in 2013, I feel I am able to be on the same level as my students and see situations in their perspectives. Every week I meet with them and see them run an E-board or Chapter meeting, it brings me back memories to my time as an undergraduate member. I truly am proud of the gentlemen I advise, in addition to my own chapter back at RIT.
I thank my time in the Theta Psi Chapter at RIT for all the knowledge and opportunities it has given me, as well as being a resource for any challenges I am faced with. If it weren't for the positive impact and experience I had as an undergraduate member, I do not think I would be where I am now, advising a chapter of over 35 members.
Thank you again for the opportunity to serve for this national organization and be proud of wearing the letters Pi Kappa Phi!
